Nancy Kinney and Justice Brownstone met one another in May, 2009 and began hatching a plan for a show about family law in the Fall of that year. Simon Norton Game, owner of Island Industrial FX and Nancy began to work together shortly after that time; and filmed the first episodes of what became Family Matters with Justice Harvey Brownstone in late March, 2010. Ideally the show will have a more elaborate format; and will eventually be aired on mainstream TV as well as online. But to begin with, the show will be based on a somewhat basic format to keep costs down, allowing actual production of the show, while the larger ideas are developed and the team generates interest in their project. Thanks to new web technologies, the Family Matters team is able to 'air' their show while they make bigger plans, bringing knowledge about family law and the justice system to online viewers everywhere.
