CBA Colleague in the Spotlight Award
Justice Brownstone was recently honoured by his colleagues for his tireless efforts to help educate the public about family law. He was presented with the Canadian Bar Association's Colleague in the Spotlight award August 15th at the CBA's annual Canadian Legal Conference held in Niagara Falls, Ontario. Our production assistant and friend of Family Matters, Omar Ha-Redeye, attended with Justice Brownstone and was kind enough to take this picture and footage of the ceremony:

It is heartening to see that the rest of the Canadian judiciary finally recognizes Justice Brownstone as the maverick and trail blazer that he truly is. No other judge in this country is prepared to stand up for the public and break down the walls of mystery and incomprehensibility like this man. The public is desperately craving information about the law and the justice system, and finally we have a judge prepared to take the lead. What a tremendous public service he is doing. He should get more accolades!!
